Donations Always Welcome

The Lakeshore Dog Pound takes donations of Dog Food, Dog Treats, Leashes, Collars, Blankets, Toy’s.

Our Facility also takes in Pop Cans, Newspapers and Zehrs Receipt Tapes as these donations greatly assist Rescue Groups with their animals.

Stray Cats

Our Dog Pound does not have the facilities to accept stray cats. The Windsor Essex County Humane Society (519) 966-5751 has revised their stray cat intake practices and policy. They will no longer accept healthy wild stray cats. They will take in friendly cats who appear to be pets and lost. They will accept injured or sick cats at any time.

All cat drop-offs must be done by appointment, walk-ins will not be accepted. This practice has been put into place to comply with the new provincial regulations.

The Town of Lakeshore will continue to supplement the cost of dropping off cats from the municipality to the Humane Society.
