The Denis St. Pierre Wastewater Treatment Plant went into overflow starting at 6:25 PM on August 24, 2023. This overflow event was immediately reported to the Spills Action Centre at Ontario’s Ministry of the Environment, Conservation and Parks (MECP), as required.
An overflow occurs when the plant exceeds capacity. This overflow event is occurring because of the recent rainfall, causing excess water inflow into the sanitary system, resulting in the plant exceeding its capacity.

Sandbags Now Available

Filled sandbags are now available for Municipality of Lakeshore residents impacted by, or at risk of, flooding.
Residents are invited to pick up sandbags at the West Public Works Yard (1089 Puce Road) until 8:00 PM tonight (August 24, 2023).
The Municipality continues to deal with flooding from the significant amount of rainfall experienced throughout the evening of August 23 and into the morning of August 24. There is a risk of additional flooding with more rainfall expected later tonight.
Removal of Pedestrian Bridge Scheduled for August 24

A pedestrian bridge over the 4th Concession Drain, located between St. Anne Catholic High School and Urban Field House in Emeryville, will be removed later this week.
The bridge provided connection from the Lakeshore-owned pedestrian pathway on the west side of the 4th Concession Drain(behind St. Anne Catholic High School), through private lands, ultimately leading to Faith Drive. The decision to remove the bridge comes after the adjacent landowner indicated they would no longer provide public access through their private property.
Free WiFi Coming to Lakeshore Parks

Free public WiFi Internet service will be available at a number of Lakeshore parks after Council agreed to provide a Letter of Support to Gosfield North Communications at the Regular Meeting on Tuesday, August 15. The service will be a significant step towards enhancing digital connectivity for residents and visitors.
